Default Dryer Will Not Run Right
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER7648KQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

My Whirpool Dryer will not run without holding the timer switch in. I can also hit the top of the dryer at times and it will start running. When I hold the timer over, most of the time it runs until I let go of it. Is the timer bad?

Could be a bad timer contact
Could also be a bad connection

Cut power to the unit
Open up your control console
Check the wires for any indication of overheating etc.
Then one by one disconnect then reconnect the wires to the timer and all switches and interconnections.
If one of them comes off too easy crimp the female end down a bit so it is tight
Put it back together and give it a shot

Here is link to your dryer

The timer was bad. I ordered a new one and replaced it and had it going in no time!
