Default Dryer tub separated from back wall
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE 312
Age: More than 10 years

Please help....my age unknown Maytag dryer was loaded with double the amount of clothes and weight than it should have been. Strange noises ensued. I have checked the belt and motor bearings just to make sure the noises coming from the unit are from the separation of the tub wall and back panel. I have taken off the two small panels in the back and the front panel too. I am positive of my diagonsis, My regular appliance repairman died earlier in the year. I am mechanically inclined and not afraid to tackle this.....

You need to replace the rollers in the rear. Actually if you are going to replace the drum rollers, you should replace the belt, and idler pully. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
