Dryer too hot
Brand:
Maytag
Age:
5 - 10 years
Maytag performa gets really hot, especially the front bottom, can hardly touch the outside of the dryer. All airflow is clear. What could be causing this?

You could have a restriction internal to the dryer,a shorted element to ground or just a bad thermostat.

It sound like the cycling thermostat has failed and the dryer is operating on the high limit thermostat.
Can you please provide your model number?
