My clothes dryer timer keeps ticking. You turn the timer knob to shut it off and it doesn't shut off completely, the dryer just keeps ticking. I figured it must be a bad timer, so I ordered one from the local parts store and replaced it, but it still does the same thing. Wondering if maybe I got a bad timer from the parts place, or if anyone has seen this before, what do I need to check, replace, etc. Thanks for any help. Also, the timer does turn, dryer works, it just won't shut off completely when it gets through with the cycle. Timer keeps on ticking and just continues to turn unless I unplug the dryer. Thanks again for any input.

You would have to be extremely unlucky to get a replacement timer with exactly the same problem as the original

More likely your timer is getting juice from an alternate path

So try the following after each new setting does the timer turn OFF
Turn off the Extended Tumble
Turn off the end of cycle Signal
Try all temp settings Fabric Select

I was able to find your Operators Manual but no wiring schematic
Check your schematic to see if there is an alternate path to the timer motor which bypasses the timer contacts. On my Maytag there is one path, if my temperature switch fails.
