Default Dryer timer
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mde9357ayw
Age: Less than 1 year

my dryer was screeching and squeeling so i came to your websight to buy a new belt, after reading some advice from others, who, after replacing the belt, had the same problem. it was sugested that the spring tensioner be replaced as well. i just finished all this, and was happy with the results until i realized the dryer was running for a very long time. after checking, i noticed the timer hadn't moved forward at all. it seems to me that the timer needs to be changed, is there any surprise parts that should be changed as well? is this a strait forward electrical job? thanks in advance

If I owned a dryer that was less than one year old, I'd talk to the retailer I bought it from about any problem I was having with it.

Hi,

Did you remove any wires when you put the other parts on?
If so make sure you plugged all the wires back in.

If the dryer still heats, then the timer needs to be replaced. It the dryer does not heat, that a whole new ball game. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Does the timer not advance in all modes?

Try timed dry and permanent press (they may call this something different)

Usually the timer motor gets power through a different set of contacts for each mode. Also try different temps.

It worked fine before your repair and now it does not, then there is a good chance you just have a loose connection. Open up the control console this is the most likely place where a wire could pull off.
