Default Dryer-testing heater coils
Brand: White-Westinghouse
Model Number: WDG546RBS0
Age: 5 - 10 years

I need to know how to test the heater coils. I've tested the high temp thermostat and the other thermostat near the motor and both read 0 ohms. The thermostat near the motor has 4 terminals, I only tested the two at the ends across each other. Dryer comes on with heat the first time and after it gets hot and turns off the flame won't come bcak on. Ignitor does come on every 30 seconds or so trying to start the flame but no gas apparently. I feel I'm close but don't know if I can test the coils and how.

Replace the coils on your gas valve, and that will take care of your problem. The ignitor comes on, and gas comes out, but the second time the ignitor comes on and no gas, and the ignitor cuts off. Cut and dry. Replace the coils on the gas valve. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
