Dryer taking too long to dry
Brand:
General Electric
Model Number:
dx2300ee1ww
Age:
1 - 4 years
My dryer is about 2 years old. The timer doesn't advance and it takes way too long to dry a load of clothes. I've cleaned out all of the hoses to make sure there is no blockage, but hasn't helped.

What cycle are you using?
Have you tried the other setting?

Dryer taking too long to dry
Hi Sheila,
I have tried all of the other settings, but it still seems to work the same. It usually takes about 3 hrs. to dry a full load.

Your dryer has a double coil heating element and one of the coils may be broken.
Which cycle are you using when the timer will not advance?

Dryer taking too long to dry
I mostly use the setting that starts at "more dry" and works it's way up to "less dry". The other side goes from 80 minutes down.

The auto dry setting or more dry-less dry uses a resistor in its circuit.
Check the resistor.
