Default Dryer stops when start button released
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110 73952101
Age: 1 - 4 years

Dryer will run until the start button is released, then stops immediately.
The door switch operates the light O.K.

There are two windings in the motor one to start the motor and one to run it.

You will need to replace your motor the run winding is opened.

Here is a link to the parts to your dryer model 110 73952101.

Here is your motor.

Some Kenmores & Whirlpools, Use A 3 Wire Start Switch, When You Press The Button, The Motor Starts And A Electro Magnet In The Switch
Comes On To Keep In The Run Mode. A Lot Of Those Switches Are Made Of Clear Plastic, And Are The Only Ones With All Three Wires Connect With 3 Different Size Connectors, So They Could Not Be Hooked Up Wrong. Just My Opinion. Brttyboop

Before you replace the motor, put 115 volts to pins 4& 5 and run motor for a period.
If no run, this confirms bad motor.
If your run winding was open, your motor would stop running as soon as it gets up to speed!! If the centrifical switch was shorted in start position, the motor would make a loud noise and soon shut down on it's overload.
