Default Dryer stops drying with F02 error
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GLEQ942CS0
Age: 1 - 4 years

My dryer has two problems. The first is that if I don't set the heat on a lower setting it will smell like something is burning. Now this perplexes me because I am religious about cleaning the lint trap with every use. If I set it at the low setting it won't smell but lately it takes 6 hours to dry. It didn't use to take so long even at the lower settings. It seems that moisture isn't leaving the dryer when I check it even 4-5 hours into the drying. Now it shuts off before the load is done drying and has an error code of F 02.

Please help.

Katie

Sounds like either or both the machine and vent are clogged up

Disconnect the dryer from the vent
Take a look inside for lint build up
Run a load with it disconnected
If you are worried about lint being blown all over. Take a pair of panty hose, put one leg into the other and attach this to the dryers exhaust. Give it some room so it can fill out, sort of like a wind sock.
If the dryer now runs OK your problem is in the vent system

Actually, when I try to run the dryer, nothing happens. The F02 code remains on the screen. I even unplugged and plugged the dryer in again, but the F02 code is still there, and the dryer won't run. I checked the vent and found some moist lint in there which I removed. It didn't appear to be enough to clog the vent. Any suggestions?

Here is a link to your dryerIncludes a couple operating manuals and a wring diagram
Frigidaire Manual Search Results

Saye F2 is for a thermistor fault

Also says to push CYCLES and OPTIONS keys for 5 seconds to return to factory settings. I would think this is also a control board reset
