Quite suddenly my 10 year old dryer refused to start in any of the three cycles (Auto, timed or no heat). After pressing start, nothing happened. Found dryer will start and heat up if I play with the TIMER knob and move it just right. A shim under the timer knob keeps the dryer on for more than a few minutes SOME of the time. Do I need to replace the Timer? Or might there be some other problem?

Id go with trying to get the timer replaced....find the model type and number...and look in the part select on-line catalog here...there are multiple parts to choose from...and price ranges
