Default Dryer Starter Switch Replacement
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DVL223GB6WW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Can someone tell me if a bad starter switch will still make a sound, as if it is recieving electrical current, when turned, but won't start dryer? I think I'm on the right path here but would like some confirmation if what i am thinking is the problem might be true.

Thankyou

You will need a meter to check for problems. Very rare for motor switch to go bad, even with GE! Check for continuity between pins 4& 5 of the motor. If ok you have other problems. Check timer, thermal fuze and verify you have 230 volts to dryer main terminal block.

Default Dryer Switch

I failed to mention that my dryer is a gas job. I don't think I willl be getting 230 volts for a reading on my mutimeter. What should I be seeing though for voltage?
