Default Dryer speeds up/slows down
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: LDE9206ACE
Age: 5 - 10 years

Our dryer makes a louder rumbling sound at start-up then runs correctly for a short while. Then it sounds like it slows down, then runs regular, then slows down, etc.

We are not fixer-uppers. Does this sound like an easy fix or should we trash it. Our dryer is very close to 10 years old.

Thanks!

It could be the plastic blower wheel is stripped out on the motor shaft. It will rumble till it catches up to speed with the motor. not to hard to replace! Open the front of dryer and move blower wheel with your hand and see if it is loose, and not firmly attached on motor, if so replace blower wheel.Bettyboop
