Default Dryer sounds and smells
Brand: Maytag
Age: 5 - 10 years

The dryer ran for 50 minutes. There was very little lint in the screen and the clothes weren't completely dry. I started the dryer again but this time there was a different sound--not a buzzing--maybe a little louder of a humming. I stopped the dryer, opened it and smelled a faint buring smell. The smell also came from the back of the dryer. Any thoughts on what would cause the smell or the sound?

Was the smell an electrical smell?

Did the motor start up or did it just make the noise?

Can you please supply your model number?
