Question Dryer screaching but working
Brand: Speed Queen
Model Number: AGM699W
Age: More than 10 years

The dryer is working but the screaching sound is deafening I already took off the front panel and can find nothing resembling a roller or belt???

check around drum for a metal clip that is used to hold the top of the dryer down if this is an older machine....I just bought one and there was a huge screeeech when I first started it up and drum actually stopped...look for scratch marks perhaps on drum....(and if it is more like a bumping booming noise.....check for a squirral in the cavity!!! yep...it did happen to me!)
