First test the power at the plug and see if your getting 240 volts, The will run on 120volts, but it takes 240v to make heat. then ck thermal fuze on heater box, operating & hi-limit thermostats, then test element!

But you didn't tell me you checked with a meter for 240 volts, about 25% of all dryer problems are cause a breaker "looks good" then after a lot of threads we find an interally bad breaker. Take the back off and all the parts that make heat are there.

plixie, unplug the dryer, and take the back off. On the right side you will see the element housing. On that model, I replace a ton of elements. I carry 5 on my truck. But, if you have a meter, check for continuity accross the element. If you don't have a meter, look on the top of the element housing, you will see a thermal fuse. It will have two wires coming to it. Take the two wires off, and get a wire, and strip the ends, and put 1 end in one of the terminals, and the other end in the other terminal, and make sure it does not hit metal, and plug the dryer in, if it works, replace the thermal fuse. If it does not, replace the element. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
