Just installed new motor assembly that was making noise all is fine there.
Second problem is during drying cycle when door is open dryer will stop
but every time you close the door it will restart by itself without having to
press start button. this did occur before motor was installed. Can that be in the timer ?? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If your motor has separate wires, you might have reversed the blue and white wires, but if your motor has a single plug that couldn't have happened. so I'd disconect the start button wires, and tape them separate, then plug in the dryer and see if that stopped your problem, start buttons go bad often.

I have a Kenmore dryer approximately same age with same problem except I did not replace motor. I did replace timer assembly but still has same problem. About 30 people have read post but no reply yet. Good luck, keep an eye out for any responses to mine too.
