Default Dryer Question
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: NVL333EB1CC
Age: 5 - 10 years

Have a Hotpoint dryer that suddenly stopped working. When you set the timer and hit the start swith all I hear is a loud humming. This sounds to me like a motor or start cap, but I thought I would throw it out here for any input. In looking at the parts diagrams I see a "Belt Switch" listed. What exactly does this switch do? Does it stop the motor from running if the belt is broken? Any info you could provide would be appreciated

You may have something jamming the motor or just bad motor bearings. Take apart info at partselect.com
