Default Dryer problem
Brand: General Electric
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a GE Model DPSF495EW0WW dryer. The dryer does not run I get minimal timer buzzer hum if the door is cracked about an inch. If I open it all the way it stops or close it all the way it stops. The light works the same way very dim at about an inch open, open all the way no light, closed all the way no light but when u hit the start button the light brightens when the door is partially open. The motor does not turn at all if someone could help I would greatly appreciate it...

Here is a link showing the most likely place for a Model Number
Dryer Model Number Locator - Find the Right Part for Your Dryer with PartSelect

Does the unit have a light in the drum?
If it worked before, does it work now?
Can you turn the drum fairly easily by hand?
Have you tried it on all cycle types re: timed dry, perm press, diferent temp settings etc.? Listen carefully is the timer running.
Does the unit have a belt break sensing switch?

Usually no power is either the thermal fuse or the door switch

Here is a link to a GE dryer says it is a Profile harmony but may be close tro yours
dpsr405 Parts List

The thermal cutout is usually on the blower assy or the heater assy
Looks like the unit has a belt break/interlock switch by the motor
Take a look in the control console could be GE has put the wiring schematic in there. Also is the unit electric or gas?

The heater runs at 240 Volt, the timer, light and motor run on 120 Volt
