Dryer overheating Brand: Estate Model Number: TEDS680E Age: More than 10 years First, my dryer stopped and wouldn't run. We figured out that it was the thermal fuse. We replaced it, and everything seemed fine. Today I was drying a load of clothes. I went into the laundry room and it was extremely hot. The load wasn't finished, but I open the dryer door, because the housing was extremely hot. I could barely handle the clothing due to the extreme temp. The filter is not clogged. I'm thinking one of the thermostates must be malfunctioning. I'm afraid to use it now, because of a possible fire. Should we try to fix it or just replace it? |
