IF a dryer isnt drying, is it really a dryer?
You said its going through the cycles, is it heating? If so, more than likely you have a air restriction. Could be the following:
- Lint build up at the back of the dryer
- the vent duct has lint build up
- the vent is kinked
- the vent hose (duct) is way too long
- the vent is restricted where it comes outside (birdsnest or lint build up)
Basically it cant breathe. You have the heat from the element and the moisture from the clothes making steam. Drying the clothes in steam takes FOREVER. If you have an electric dryer, a good way to test this is to take the vent off the back of the dryer. Dry a load. See if you have any improvement. I dont reccomend this on gas dryers due to carbonmonixoide fumes are possible. |
