The dryer starts then makes a loud sqeeling noise that gets quieter and quieter until it's quiet. After a while (8 to 12 minutes), dryer stops and won't start for a long time. Smells real hot. I disassembled the dryer and cleaned out all the lint and oiled the drum rollers and spring loaded idler. I think it's the motor bearings. Can they be replaced without changing the motor?

Chuck the best thing you can do is replace the 2 rollers in the rear, the idler pully and belt. The parts are real cheap. If you need instruction or photos, I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
