Default Dryer noise squeek and scrape
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MDE4916AYW
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer makes a squeaking and scraping noise. It is progressively getting worse.
I have the directions to take the dryer apart. What are the likely causes. What do I look for? I have read in the postings that it may be the idler pully, bearing or fron seal. Any other areas that I need to check?

First determine where the noise is coming form this will make it easier when you take it apart.

Then look for signs of wear in that area.
