Default Dryer motors
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.86983810
Age: More than 10 years

I have been fussing with this dryer purchased by the original owner in 1990. It is in great condition but the belt and rollers were causing a commotion so I replaced them. The motor was humming and having difficulty starting so I had a repairman confirm that it was indeed the motor going out. I took the part number(3391890) to the appliance parts store and he supplied me with a new motor (part number 8066207). BUT the blower shaft is longer by 3/8 of an inch and the drive shaft is longer by 1/2 an inch. When I place in the dryer in the position of the old motor the clamps won't fit and when I place it in the position indicated by the new instructions, the clamps are soo loose that the motor will jump all over the dryer. Any suggestions??

Yeah, you're right. The parts guy handed me the wrong part, charged me for the right part. I googled the parts, called him back and switched with him yesterday afternoon. After dinner, I got the new motor in and the dryer sounds oh so sweet!! Thanks for your input.
