Try turning the drum by hand
It should turn relatively easy
You will have to open the dryer up and find what is binding causing the screech
If you need additional help please include a model number

maytag 5DG515DAWW DRYER
When i turn dryer on the igniter lights up and everything is fine for about 2 to 3 min. an then no flame. When it tries to ignite again there no gas an the igniter stays lite for about 5 seconds with no gas an won't light at all. BEFOREall this happen i sprade the wheel behine the drum with wd40 to get rid of the screeching from that 1 wheel an it worked. Since i sprade the wd40 the gas dose not stay on. I don't think i got any spray on any thing an if i did would it hurt anything. Thank You Peter Moorehead

Wen;
Did you remove the drum and see if the support rollers are frozen to their shafts, or the idler for the belt is wrecking your belt? that usually makes a terrible schreeching sound!!!
