Default Dryer makes grinding noise
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GLET1031CS0
Age: 1 - 4 years

I left my dryer running as I left the house for a few hours. When I returned I attempted to start it again since they were not dry and all it does is make this bad sound coming from the back left (if facing the front) of the dryer. It sounds almost like a grinding noise. The drum turns freely with my hand and it has never done this before. The belt has been replaced once. I coudnt figure out how to get to the motor or belt to check them. Its a Frididaire GLET1031CS0. Any help is appreciated. TIA

Billy

tenant there is a rear bearing kit that is mounted to the back of the heater housing, and the drum sits in this housing, and spins. There is a little bearing that is part of the kit, and it gets dry. This could very well be your problem. If you need further help, I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
