 Dryer knocking, screws came loose and stopped spinning Brand: Kenmore Model Number: 27" Stackable Age: 5 - 10 years
I took on the feat of replacing my element and T-stat in my Kenmore 27" stackable, against my wife's wishes. Replacing the parts were easy. It was putting the box back together that was very frustrutating. It took forever, but I finally lined up the metal spindle with the drum and screwed in the three screws inside the drum to the spindle. I'm sure it's not called a spindle, but not sure the correct term...sorry. Anyway, got it all together and element and t-stat worked great, but about 15 minutes into a test cycle, the maching started knocking and soon after stopped spinning. I looked inside the drum and 1 of the 3 screws had came out of the spindle and another was almost out. I really don't want to call a repair man after all of this, please HELP, so my wife want say "I told you so". P.S . I also noticed on the "spindel" there is a ball that snaps into a fitting to hold in place. It appears that it needed a little more grease. Could this be my problem?? |
