It could very well be the door switch. A good way to check it, would be first unplug the dryer and take the front off, and jump out the door switch, before you buy one. There will be three wires coming to the switch, 1 is the power, the second wire is if for the light, which will be easy to trace once you take the front off, the other will be the door. Of course check the connections, and make sure there are no burn marks on the wires or terminals. Once you establish the wire going to the light, get the other 2 wires, and put the terminals together, and put a little tape around it, so it does not hit metal, and then plug it back in and see if it works. If it does then replace the door switch, if it does not, it could be the timer contacts inside the timer, or the motor switch If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom |
