Our dryer won't start. I would press the start button and hear a hum that will only last a couple of seconds but the dryer won't do anything. When I hold down the start button - it would hum longer (about 8-10 seconds) and then stops. I think I would smell something afterwards although I am not entirely sure. Could this be the motor? Thank you for your assistance.

It could be the starts winding in the motor has failed.

It could be that something got down the lint shout and is not letting the motor turn to start.

The smell would be the motor over heating.

Can you please verify your model number as I can't locate it in our database?
