Question Dryer is humming
Brand: Other
Model Number: Rex4634Kq1
Age: 1 - 4 years

The dryer is a Roper, pretty basic. Approximatly 1 year old. I went to start it and it made a loud pop and just went off. I thought there may be some kind of reset button, we were in the middle of an electrical storm for whatever reason thought that may be it. When I set the timer it will hum for a second or two and stop and nothing. What is wrong with it. PLEAZZE , any ideas
thanks

I found this website to be totally useless, but FYI to anyone out there listening. I found out that there was lint tangled in the motor causing it not to turn over to just hummmm.... therefore be sure to empty the lint filter every single dry to save yourself the drama of having someone come out and charge u 50 bucks to dig it out for you. I changed cleaned it often but not every dry, hope this helps someone.

Sutton01, is there any kind of smell with the dryer, now or when it happened? For example burnt toast, chemically, burnt hair, etc?
