Question Dryer heats-3 times to dry-now burning smell
Brand: Whirlpool
Age: 1 - 4 years

The dryer was working fine then was moved to a new home. Now it takes 3 times to dry a load even though it is heating up and lint only appears on 1/2 of the lint screen. Last use a burning smell occured it was unplugged. Would like to check to see if there was a flash fire but cannot get front panel off. What could cause the long drying time? Could moving the machine have done something?

Pull out the lint filter remove the 2 screws there, standing in front of the dryer, put your right hand in back of the panel, and pull slightly forward, at the same time lift up on the front edge of the top, and the right front corner will pop up. now do the same on the left, and raise the top back on it's hindges.
reach in and un plug the door switch. Now in side the front near the top are a screw on the right & left remove them and lift away the front,
P.S. un plug the dryer from the wall almost all the wires in a dryer are energised all the time!!!!
