Cool Dryer heating element stays on
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: let7848aq2
Age: More than 10 years

Hello, my dryer quit running so I read many of the postings and got it running by replacing the thermal fuse. I also have cleaned the lent trap, the vent hose, and the outside vent. Now when I run the dryer there is a strong flow of air that comes out of the vent. My problem now is the heating element will stay on when I open the door. The heating element will go off if I turn the timer off.
Thanks for any help.

Pull the element. It is probably broken, and is hitting the metal case. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
