What was the original problem with the dryer?

I do not have a wiring diagram to the dryer.

If you can follow the diagram you may find you have a faulty timer or electronic control.

Here is a link to the parts for your dryer model 11086980800.

It did before I changed the timer, now the element comes on when I turn it to any time selction without pressing the start button. It stays on even if i open the dryer door. But it turns off if I turn the timer to the off position. I have changed the element, the timer, the thermal cutoff switch and the thermostat. It will not regulate the cutoff switch. i have replaced the cutoff switch twice. what else could it be.

Check the heating element for a wire that should not be there.

Likely a C or U shape.

This would be a wire out of a bra.
