Default Dryer Heat going off after some time
Brand: Amana
Model Number: LG8319W2
Age: More than 10 years

Dryer seems to be initially heating as I can feel the warm air inside but after a while if I check it there seems to be no warmth inside the dryer. I vacuum cleaned the filters and the vents. Anything else I can do by myself to fix it. The serial number of the Dryer starts with 94, so guessing this Dryer is 13 years old. Does this mean it has already lived enough.

take the bottom panel off and start the dryer. the flame comes on and after acouple of mins. when it reaches temp the flame will go out. it may do that for a couple of times, but if the ignitor glows and then goes out without lighting the burner then the valve coils are most likely bad

Eric,
The dryer is a gas one. Per your instructions I opened the bottom panel and observed that at the first attempt after the ignitor turns on, the gas burner also turns on. After around 2-3 minutes the gas burner goes off. After that the ignitor keeps going on and off after a short duration but the burner does not turn on. The heating coil you have mentioned in your post is it supposed to be for an electric dryer? I really appreciate you or any other experts in this forum for any suggestions in this regard.

Does anybody have a picture of what the valve coils look like? Is it the two black things that sit next to each other with prongs coming out of them?
