Default Dryer has no flame or heat
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LGQ7030KQ1
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer gets a glow (from the ignitor?) but has no flame for heat to dry clothes. When the problem started I would have flame - heat intermittently, but now there is none at all. Still getting glow, but no flame.

I thought I needed to replace the heating element but it seems this part does not exist for my model. Any help would be great, thanks.

You need to contact a techitian to repair your dryer, it's gas, I am not allowed to advise you on gas, to dangerous, your life is more important than a service call Bettyboop

sounds like your coils are bad on the gas valve. pull your model up on partselect.com and go to the burner assembly and the coils are number 14 and 15 all you have to do is remove two screws and the coils slide off. no gas will leak out nor do you even have to shut the gas off. just don't get the coils mixed up, they are different coils. I replace them all the time, hardest part is getting to them sometimes

Is there a way to test the coils before I order the replacements? Such as a certain resistance, or open or closed status across the terminals?

I have the same problem with our Roper, ignitor comes on, never gets gas to ignite, thermostat shuts off the ignitor.

I verified the gas flow up to the burner assembly is OK. Ready to order them but thought I should check them if possible.

Thank You

i foget what the ohm readings are on the coils. I change them so many times when the ignitor lites and no gas that I never bother to check the ohms. OFF TO THE NEXT CALL. 99%sure this is your problem
