Default Dryer Drum Won't spin
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FLSEC72GC
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a combination washer/dryer and the washer works fine, the dryer heater heats up, the interior light and door switch works properly. the drum will rotate by hand and the drive belt is fine. The motor turns when i rotate the drum by hand. Also, If I activate the start switch I think I can hear the timer motor working but it stops immediately when I release the switch. So in a nutshell everything seems to work except the drum won't rotate.

I checked the timer motor with an ohm meter and got a reading of 2400 ohms resistance. According to the schematics there is a thermal limiter in the motor circuit and there seems to be a solenoid of some type also. I'm thinking the problem is in one of these components but would appreciate some input from someone who knows more about dryers then me.

Thanks,

Dave Stewart

Check the power coming to the dryer you should have 240 volts.

Check the wiring in the dryer.

Where was your washer/dryer purchased?

The reason I'm asking is I can't locate it in our data base.
