Default Dryer Drum Clicks
Brand: Speed Queen
Age: More than 10 years

Hello...

I hope someone out there can help me with my dryer problem.

This is a SPEED QUEEN. Model Number: HE5003W

Last night I put my sneakers in the dryer and after a few minutes I heard a high pitch squealling. The squealing stopped and then I heard that the drum was making a clicking sound as it turned. I stopped the dryer and I could tell that one of my shoelaces looked like it had gotten snagged somewhere in the dryer because the shoelace knot was as tight as could be.

As it stands now ... the dryer runs ... but the drum makes a click...click...clicking sound. I turned the drum manually with the dryer off and it also clicks when I turn it that way.

If someone knows what is wrong with the dryer .... is it a HAZARD to run it like this until I can either fix it or buy a new one????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Tamara

Default Any ideas?????

After reading a lot of the dryer repair threads on this forum ... I'm wondering ... could my knocking / clicking noise be a drum glide issue or the drum is hitting the blower?

Any HELP would be make our entire family VERY happy...

Tamara
