We're not exactly sure how old this Dryer is (I REALLY wish appliances had the year manufactured on them...), but it stopped working last night.

All it does now is, you can hear a hum/buzzing noise when you press the start button. It doesn't spin, or appear to heat at all. You can hear the timer ticking, but thats it.

Anyone have a guess if this needs a new motor or what?

To see if it is the start winding in the motor open the door and hold in on the door switch.

Have someone push the start button while you turn the drum by hand.

If the dryer starts you will have to replace the motor because the start winding is burnt out.
