Default Dryer does nothing
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: de5800aww1
Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer just quit working totally....no humming, buzzing or anything.....I have gone through and checked thermals(two on rear wall by element term. and one exhaust therm.) and switches for cont. and all seem to check out....my timer is <2 yrs old......I did find scorched wire leading to element terminal, replaced entire wire and leads but has not corrected problem.....motor turns freely and quietly with no burnt odor ......am I missing a thermal switch somewhere or mis-diagnosing a bad motor??? would a bad element cause this problem???

yes.......I have since been using another dryer while I attempt to repair my prefered dryer on the same outlet with the same pigtail....I checked the voltage at the plug and terminal block before I disconnected my broken dryer.........thank you for the response starting with the inexpensive remedies first....we think alike
