Default Dryer does not heat properly
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: pye2300ayw
Age: 5 - 10 years

You have to run the dryer 2-3 times before it dries the items fully. Is it the heating element or some other component that needs to be replaced?

Also, where is the faulty component located?

Thanks!

Here is a link to a parts breakdown with a wiring diagram
Maytag PYE2300AYW Parts List

The most common cause of you problem is a malfunctioning vent system.
Disconnect the dryer from the vent and run a load and check the exhaust for good air flow and heat. If it now dries OK, clean the vent system and check that the exterior vent flap is operating correctly.

If you are worried about lint in the house, take a pair of pantyhose, put one leg inside the other and attach this to the dryer exhaust. Leave enough room so the hose can blow out like a windsock.

Would be a good time to open up the dryer and give it a good cleaning inside.
This can add years to the dryers life as the motor will run cooler.
Also check your belt etc.
