Default Dryer died mid cycle
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER8648L
Age: 5 - 10 years

My whirlpool dryer died while it was running two days ago. I took off the back and cleaned everything. When I plug it in and try to start it, I can hear the timer. I have read about thermal fuses on this site. Do you think this could be my problem, and if so what does it look like.

Please Help,
Erik

I found the thermal fuse by looking at parts for the dryer online. I tested it and it showed open. I removed the fuse and jumpered the circuit. The dryer ran like a champ. I found the new part on ebay for four dollars with shipping. I'll have to wait a few days, but the dryer will work then. Thank you all who have posted to thermal fuse questions in the past.
