Default Dryer Dead

Hi all,

I have an old Whirlpool electric dryer which stopped working recently. The only sound it makes is a mechanical sounding click when push the start button. Breakers are fine. The hot wire coming into the machine is carrying current (used current tester). Where do I begin trouble-shooting this beast?

What are the top three things to check, in order, and how do I check them?

Thanks for your advice.

Jeff

Can you please provide your model number?

Check the voltage at the dryer you should have 240 volts.

Check the wiring in the dryer for burnt wires.

Check the thermal fuse and make sure if has continuity.

It is located on the blower housing.

Here is a link to your dryer model LE9200XWN1.
