Default Dryer is Dead ?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 110.87984100
Age: 5 - 10 years

Gas Dryer won't do anything. I have power at the wall. Checked continuity of thermo fuse, limit thermostat, door switch. All test out ok. I've read about a "hidden fuse" Where does it hide on this model ?
If there is no "hidden fuse" or it is good I will check power to terminal block. How do I check push to start button and the timer ? Any other suggestions ?

You have 2 thermal fuses, the one on the top left of heater box, protects the element, the other, white plastic one on the blower housing, next to the operating thermostat, that protects the motor. If it is blown, dryer will not run!!!!

This is a gas dryer so I'm assuming there is no "element" on this dryer. Am I correct? If there is an element, where do I find the "heater box" ?

Thanks

Gary:

If electric there's a heater box.(long silver thing) If gas there's still a heater box.
Have you opened up the back panel yet? The thermal is on the blower housing like I said, that if blown motor will not run. The thermal on the top left of the heater box, if blown you will get no heat! Got it now? Start checking. If motor thermal is dead, temporally connect the 2 little blue wires, from the thermal together, put electrial tape on them, plug dryer back in, try to start. If it starts stop it and obtain a new fuse. when you get new fuse let me knowBettyboop

thermofuse is not in the back on this dryer, this dryer should have a lower front panel . fuse is on the blower housing. if you said all the limits and thermostat check out ok then you may have other problem. push to start switch can be checked with a ohms meter (power off).

Thanks for the help guys....
This is a Gas dryer. I checked every freaking thing and found out it was a bad gas valve "Coil"(s) replaced them and Viola ! works again.
Now I am wondering about something tho.... Dryer was completly dead but after taking off wires of the (fuse, sensor, thermostat,?) in the burner itself,I tested for continuity, it was ok, re-connected wires, tried a no heat, air dry cycle and it came back to life. Then tried a heat cycle, wouldn't fire up. Then I found the coils were bad. Now it works ! All connections on the sensor in the burner were on tight but worked after I checked for continuity. Do you suppose just checking it , somehow "re-set" it ?
