Question Dryer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FSG747GE
Age: 5 - 10 years

Start knob broke off front of dryer. However it sheared off completely and there is no longer a post to put on a new knob. So, I need to replace the timer switch in the back of this knob so it has an actual post to put the knob.
Problem is, I don't know how to get into the back of this switch. do I need to call a repair man? Do I need a special tool? The front plastic panel pulled off easily, but I am now faced with metal pieces that don't seem to make sense as to their removal.
Please help, I am hanging clothes on the line, and have been for a few months, but it is getting colder...

You have to remove the top of the dryer to get to the timer.

Make sure you disconnect the power to the dryer first.

There should be two spring clip in the corners to release the top.

You can use a putty knife to release them.

Here is a link to your dryer model FSG747GE.
