the dryer will not stop work by itself even it is a sensor type.the setting knob is staying in same position you turn dryer on

Will the timer move if you run it in timed dry? If so replace the operating thermostat.

Is it nessesary to fix or is it dangerous not to fiX.I CALL repair they said it will cost me about $200.
