Default Did lightning kill my dryer
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DPSB613EDCC
Age: 1 - 4 years

I had lightning strike a tree in the yard about 50 feet from the house. Several circuit breakers were tripped and lightbulbs blew. The dryer won't turn on since the electronic lights won't illuminate on the panel to select the type of clothes,...- although the light inside comes on. I have a multimeter and checked the voltage to the dryer and it's ok.

What is the weakest link? I've opend the top panel and the circuit board 'looks' ok as I don't see and obvious burnt capacitors. Do I need to have the circuit board replaced?
Is there a fuse hidden somewhere? How do I get to it? Where to find replacement?

Thanks,
Jeff

You may have blown a thermal fuze. Look at partselect for info. Check for power to electronic module. If ok you probably blew the control module.

Where is the thermal fuse?
Which terminals do I check on the electronic module? 1 - 6?
I checked resistivity of the red wire which goes down toward the motor and it was zero, so it it's fused, it is ok.

You must find the schematic for this dryer, it should be behind the console. Must trace power trail from pigtail to module, to motor.
