Light colored clothes have been coming out with a grease like stain from our KitchenAid dryer. I examined the inside of the drum and found dark stains around the holes on the heat vent on the left side as I look in the drum. Could this be soot from our propane flame. What would cause this? I have not checked if lint has accumulated in the very long flexible vent, about 20 feet to the outside. It is 6 years old and otherwise works well.

You should clean it and have it check by a qualified gas technician.
