Unhappy Clothes not drying, but dryer is hot to touch
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: FER211AS2
Age: 1 - 4 years

My dryer is not drying the clothes unless you keep restarting. Sometimes 3 cycles. The top of the dryer and the back (drum) is very hot. I am trying to take the back off to check out and cannot get this off. Have opened up the top and the lint trap. I cleaned the filter and the hose to no avail. Please help me!!

If my heating element is bad, would the dryer heat up?

Run the dryer with the vent hose off if it goes back to normal, wall is really plugged up. If you don't feel a strong force of hot air coming out of the tail pipe with your hand 4 " away. I find that 3 out of 4 have packed lint in the chamber by the blower wheel. To clean, re move the 2 phillips screws by the lint filter, then with the back off, remove the 4 screws from the bottom of the lint chute, and pull it out to the bottom. take it out side and flush it throughly with your garden hose. when dry replace.
