Unhappy Chirppung Dryer
Brand: Amana
Model Number: 8109lgw2
Age: More than 10 years

I have an Amana Dryer and it was chirpping quite loudly.
I have replaced the dryer belt and guides. I oiled the three wheels (idler and two drum wheels in rear). It ran great for a week but now the chirpping is back. I am not sure what to replace/check next. Other than where my shotgun shells are. Any ideas from anyone?

It sounds like you found the culprit since oiling it stopped the noise for a week

You may be able to narrow it down by the frequency of the chirps
Drum would be slow, motor very fast

Probably one of the parts you oiled is worn out, I would disassemble it and check each roller/idler for slop on the shaft. Also check the shafts for wear.

Might also be your blower wheel. I would check it for clearances

Here is another check you may want to do
One way to check a dryer motor to see if it is bad.

This one has several sections on noise
Maytag dryers, gas and electric dryers, how ot take apart, timer and motor tests, no heat tests, stackable maytag washer/dryer fault codes
