Default Can't replace the felt on my dryer
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: DBXR453EVOWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have received a new piece of felt but am unable to get it back where it goes and I am not 100% sure where it goes. The old one was half in and half out when I took the dryer apart. I don't know if the felt goes on the outside of the lip of the drum or if it goes in the guide for the drum. I am unable to get the drum over the felt and do not want to break anything. Thanks

Default Felt replacement

The felt fits around the back of the drum, apply glue, then fit the fabric part(with the stitching) around the lip of the drum, the glue is real messy so be careful. It is easier with two people. One person can hold the seal while the other person fits it around the drum. after putting on the felt, replace drum and slide a screw driver under the felt and the drum rest at 12:00 position and rotate drum, the felt seal will wrap around the drum rest(outside the inner drum). Phil
