Default Burned Heater Wire
Brand: Amana
Model Number: tea400
Age: More than 10 years

Hi,
When I opened my Amana dryer because it had stopped heating I found that the wire from the limit thermostat to the heater element had burned off at the heater element terminal. I replaced the wire and it worked ok for about a day and then burned off again. Does just the thermostat need to be replaced or should I replace the entire heating assembly?
Thanks

I would change both thermostats, hi limit and operating thermostats , this will bring the run away heat element back to normal operation
